Next week's jackpot is 10,800 euro and the draw will be held in Leavy's.

As you may be aware, a club celebration night has been organised, which will be held in Leavy's on Saturday the 19th of November. There was no match 3 winner and so 4 names were drawn from the drum. They were Philomena Farrell, Cecil Hall, Nuala Kelly and Martin & Francis c/o Leavy’s. This week's jackpot is 10400 euro.
As you may be aware, this was a very successful year for Kenagh GFC. We finished top of the Division 2 League with a total of 19 points and remained unbeaten throughout the campaign. This means that Kenagh will be back playing Division 1 football, after being absent from the top flight for a very long period. The players and management should be congratulated for achieving this major milestone in the club's history. Hopefully the lads can hold their own in Division 1 next year, which would be an achievement in itself. The team brought home the cup on Sunday last after playing against Ballymore in the League Cup final. Unfortunately, the lads could not beat Ballymore on the day but we were more than satisfied with winning the league outright, which is the main tournament after the Intermediate Championship. There was much celebration in the village afterwards, which was great to see as it has been far too long. Our Junior and Division 4 teams both finished top of their leagues this year which was also a big achievement for the club. Unfortunately, they did not win any trophies this time round, but the lads should be commended for putting in such a great effort. A celebration night has been organised, which will be held in Leavy's on Saturday the 19th of November. There will be music and food provided on the night and there will be no cover charge. We would encourage everybody to attend as we want this to be a great celebration night for the club. We would like to wish the best to Christopher Dowler who suffered a bad injury recently. We hope he has a speedy recovery.

There was one match three winner. She is Mary Belton from Kenagh and she wins 75 euro. Next week's jackpot is 10,200 euro and the draw will be held in O'Boyle's on Monday night.
The is still no word on when the Moran Cup final will be played. Ballymore & Grattans still have to play each other to decide our opponents. We will keep you posted on the date & time as soon as we hear from the County Board.
Our under 21's lost out to a strong Mostrim team in the U21 Championship on Friday night last in Kenagh. This is the first year in a long time that Kenagh has not amalgamated with other teams which is a good sign for the future. They are in a tough group with Mostrim, Mullinaghta & Rathcline, but we feel that the lads have every chance of progressing if they play to their ability.
Congratulations to our club secretary, Sean Canavan, on getting engaged to Niamh Sheehan last week.
The GAA are currently running an oral history project which will contain a collection of stories from clubs across the country. If anybody is interested in sharing some old stories or facts about the club and it's members, please contact John Rowan on 086 1700361. We would really appreciate any input.
The county board are now looking for people interested in becomming referees. Our under 21's will commence their Championship campaign this Friday night against Mostrim in Kenagh. The game starts at 8:15pm and we would really appreciate it if a good crowd came along to support the lads. They are in a tough group with Mostrim, Mullinaghta & Rathcline, but we feel that the lads have every chance of progressing if they play to their ability.
There was one match three winner. She is Dervilla Hoare from Roscommon and she wins 75 euro. Next week's jackpot is 10,100 euro and the draw will be held in Doyle's.
As you may know, our senior team have made 2011 a historic year by being crowned the Division 2 League champions. It is reported that this is the first major trophy that a Kenagh Senior team has won since they last won the Division 2 League in 1998. The team set their sights on winning the league this year and trained extremely hard from an early stage. There was some pressure this year as five out of the seven teams are to be relegated to Division three football. Most of the teams were very conscious of this fact, which made the league even more competitive. The team's effort was not in vain as they produced some impressive football and managed to remain unbeaten for the entire league campaign and ended up with a total of 19 points. The players and management team deserve huge credit and should be congratulated for putting in the effort and ensuring that it paid off. This impressive run of form means that Kenagh will be playing senior football in Division 1 next year against the best that the county has to offer. We are sure that this young team will be up for the challenge and will continue to improve under the guidance of Willie Forbes and the management team.
There is still another trophy to play for as the top two teams will battle it out for the Moran Cup. Our opponents will be either Ballymore or Grattans. This game is scheduled to be played on November 6th, where the lads will be crowned Division two champions and, hopefully, Moran Cup champions also. This will be a special day for the club and there will surely be great celebrations in the village afterwards.

Kenagh GFC Notes 03-05-2011

Lotto 02nd October 2011: The numbers drawn were 2, 5, 20 & 24. There was one match three winner. She is Noelle Gillen from Moydow and she wins 75 euro. Next week's jackpot is 9,900 euro and the draw will be held in Newman's.
Our Intermediate team had a great win against a strong Ballymore side in the Division 2 League on Saturday last. This was an extremely important game in the team's bid to win a major title as they have now further distanced themselves from their nearest rivals, Grattan Og and Ballymore. The game was played in wet & windy conditions and, as a result, the lads found it difficult to settle into the game in the early stages. They went in three points down at half time after Ballymore converted some handy close range frees. The lads played with great confidence in the second half and managed to turn the game around after a well worked goal by the attacking center half back, Gary Doyle. It was all Kenagh after this and Ballymore could do nothing to stem the attack of our dangerous forwards. Well done to the lads and we wish them the best of luck in their final two matches of the season. We have no doubt that they can continue to improve and win some much needed silverware for the club.
Parents please note that underage training continues in the Kenagh Community Centre every Tuesday evening from 6-7pm for U6's & U8'S and from 7-8pm for U14's & U16's. There is a fee of 1 euro per child to cover the cost of the centre.

Kenagh GFC Notes 26-09-2011

Lotto 26th September 2011: The numbers drawn were 3, 7, 14 & 20. There were two match three winners. They are Colm Murray & Mary Forbes. They receive 40 euro each. Next week's jackpot is 9800 euros and the draw will be held in O'Boyle's.
Our Intermediate team had a great result against Grattan Og in the Division 2 League last Saturday. The lads were fired up for the game and it showed as they won comfortably on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-2. Grattan Og are out nearest rivals in the league and so this was a welcome result in our bid to win the league outright.
The lads play against Ballymore next Saturday evening @5:45 in Ballybrien. Please try to make it to the game and support the lads in what is another important league match. Ballymore are still in with a shout of winning the league and so Kenagh will have to do everything in their power to get a victory.
Congratulations to William & Fiona McGrory (Smith) on the recent birth of their son Tiernan.

Kenagh GFC Notes 19-09-2011

Lotto 19th September 2011: The numbers drawn were 6, 15, 16 & 21. There were two match three winners. They are Denise Hughes & The Murphy Family. Next week's jackopt is 9700 euro and the draw will be held in The El Paso.
Our Intermediate team are still playing in the Division 2 League and are currently top of the table. They had a comprehensive win against Forgney and a draw against Legan last week. This means that the lads have it all to play for as they are up against second place Grattan Og this Saturday in Kenagh @6pm. This is a four pointer, as they say, and we hope that the lads play with real confidence as we know they can. It would be great if our supporters could turn up to cheer the lads on.
Our walking track is entering into the final stages of completion in the next week or so. There is much interest in the track amongst the community and so we are proposing to start a walking club in the near future. Anybody who is a member of the club will be insured to have full use of the track. Membership has not been confirmed yet, but it is proposed to be in the region of 15-20 euro.
We are looking forward to this opening of the track and feel that it will a much loved facility within the community. Well done to all involved in bringing it to this stage.

Kenagh GFC Notes 05-09-2011

Lotto 05 September 2011: The numbers drawn were 13, 15, 18 & 30. There was one match three winner. He is Ray McGann from Corlea. Next week's jackpot is 9500 euro and the draw will be held in Newman's.
Our Intermediate team had a disappointing defeat against Ballymore on Saturday last. The game was played in Pearse Park and Kenagh went in as underdogs after being comprehensively beaten by Ballymore earlier in the championship. The lads settled into the game well but could not manage to convert some very scorable chances. Ballymore seemed to take heart from this and managed to score 1-1 without reply. This early goal seemed to be the difference between the two teams as Kenagh seemed to be chasing the game from then on. The lads can have no complaints based on this performance and we would like to wish Ballymore every success in the final.
The league resumes for Kenagh this week as we play Legan on Wednesday @8:15 and Forgney on Saturday @6:30. There is still a lot to play for this year as we are in second place, one point behind Grattan Og.
The walking track is progressing and the perimeter lights were switched on Tuesday night last. We are hoping that this will be complete in the very near future. We feel that it will be a welcome addition to the community, especially with the dark winter nights fast approaching.
Congratulations to Stephen Kenny & Amy Frawley who got married last week.
Also, congratulations to Ciaran & Lorna McGann on the birth of their son Dylan.

Kenagh GFC Notes 07-08-2011

Lotto 08th August 2011: The numbers drawn were 3, 6, 14 & 16. There were four match three winners. They are Seamus Nolan, Daniel Boland, Mark Nolan & anon c/o Fr. Tom. They receive 20 euro each. Next week's jackpot is 9100 euro and the draw will be held in Newman's.
Our junior team had a disappointing defeat to a very strong Killoe team in the Junior A Championship on Saturday last. The lads battled hard but were not strong enough on the day for a Killoe team who had obviously trained hard all year. The lads now play Kilashee this Wednesday in the third round of the championship. Best of luck to all involved.
Our Intermediate team are playing Kilashee in the fourth round of the Intermediate Championship this Friday @8:15 pm in Newtown Cashel. This is another crunch encounter for the lads as a victory is required to secure a place in the semi-finals of the championship. We want to wish the best of luck to the lads and hope that our supporters will make the effort to come along and make some noise.
Congratulations to Benny & Karen O'Neill who got married recently.
Also, welcome home to Gary Doyle who arrived back from Australia recently.

Kenagh GFC Notes 27/06/2011

Lotto 26th June 2011: The numbers drawn were 10, 11, 15 & 22. There were three match three winners. They are Paddy Finnegan, Lizzie Tully & Pauline Wallace. Next week's jackpot is 8500 euro and the draw will be held in Doyle's.
Our Reserve League team had a disappointing defeat, at the hands of Sean Connollys, in the semi-final of the league on Sunday last. The team had a great campaign and topped the league after the final round of games. The knockout type semi-final was then introduced and the lads fought gallantly in what was a hugely entertaining game, in front of a good crowd of loyal home supporters. Sean Connollys tried to pull away at various stages of the game but our men stayed in touch and would definitely have won the game if they had a few extra minutes on the clock. They finished strongly which is testament to the fitness and determination instilled in them by the management team. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be on the day but the team can be proud of their league campaign this year.
The panel was as follows: Sean Percival, Damian Mulvihill, Raymond Duignan, Mark Mulvihill, John Gill, Padraig Fahy, Rory Connor, Michael McCormack, Chris Dowler, Ian McEntee, Alan Percival, Padraig Connolly, William Jones, Jeffrey Hall, Kevin McCormack, Mark Nolan, Ian Farrell, James Carberry, Jonathon Reddy, Gerry McGann, Pat gill & Jason Rhatigan. Well done to all the lads involved.
Training continues on Tuesday @8:30 & Friday @8:30 for all players.

Training for U-6, U-8 & U10's is on every Sunday morning at 11:30. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids along for a fun training session.

Well done to all of our competitors from Kenagh who took part in the County Community Games in Ballymahon on Sunday last. A full list of medal winners will be available next week.

Kenagh GFC Notes

Lotto - 19th June 2011: the numbers drawn were 3, 4, 5 & 9. There were two match three winners. They are Eileen Lawlor and Seamus Fallon. They win 40 euro each. Next week's jackpot is 8400 euro and the draw will be held in Leavy's.
Well done to our reserve league team who had another impressive victory against Kilashee on Saturday last. This means that the lads have topped the table and are now in the semi-finals of this competition. This is due to be played this week and we would encourage all supporters to come along and cheer on the lads. Keep a close eye on the fixtures to see when the match is scheduled.
We would like to remind members of the community to be vigilant when around the clubhouse area as a number of acts of vandalism have taken place recently. A number of windows have been broken in the clubhouse which is costing the club a significant amount of money to rectify. Anybody found to be taking part in this vandalism will be reported to the Gardai without hesitation.
Training continues this Tuesday and Friday night @8:30pm for all senior and junior players. Both championships are fast approaching and we would encourage all players to turn up.... And bring a friend.
Kids training (U-6, U-8 & U-10) continues every Sunday morning @11:30. Parents are urged to bring their kids along.

Kenagh GFC Notes 30/05/2011

Lotto 29th May 2011: the numbers drawn were 11, 19, 28 & 29. There was one match three winner. she is Carmel Looram. Next wek's jackpot is 8100 euro and the draw will be held in Doyle's.
Our intermediate team had a good win over Moydow on Friday night last. This was a good performance by the lads considering the amount of injuries which we have at the moment.
St Dominics Minor Board along with Kenagh GFC would like to Congratulate Rory Connor who won two SFAI All Ireland Medals at U16 and U17 level with Belvedere Football club in Dublin. This was a great acheivement by Rory and we look forward to seeing him in the Kenagh colours again soon.
Get well soon to Jeffrey Hall who fell ill recently. We would like to wish the best of luck to all of our club members who are sitting exams in the next week or two. Go naire an bothar libh.

Kenagh GFC Notes 23/05/2011

Lotto 22nd May 2011: The numbers drawn were 6, 10, 19 & 22. There were five match three winners. They are Frances Boland (twice), Liam McHugh, Olive Gill & Lizzie Nestor. Next week's jackpot is 8000 euro and the draw will be held in Leavy's.
Our Reserve League 4 team had a convincing win over Moydow Harpers on Saturday last in Moydow. This was another great win against a Moydow team who would have been fancied by many to win this league outright. This was a tight game with Moydow leading until the final stages of the game when Chris Dowler pounced with a magnificent winning goal at the death. Well done to the lads on maintaining their winning form.
Our Intermediate team are out against Moydow Harpers this Saturday in Kenagh @7:30pm.
Best of luck to our under 12's as they play in the GO games blitz in Oliver Lynch Park on Thursday.
The development of our new floodlight trackway and viewing steps is now well underway and is progressing nicely. We are aiming to have it completed by the end of June, weather permitting. We believe that this greatly enhances the facilities available to our members and the public in general and hope that you are in agreement when you see the final job.
Best of luck to Anthony Madigan & Keith McLoughery who are travelling abroad in search of work for the summer. Both of the lads have been playing great stuff for the club and will be sorely missed.
We would like to offer our congratulations to all of our underage members who made their Communion on Saturday last.

Kenagh GFC Notes 16/05/2011

Lotto 16th May 2011: The numbers drawn were 3, 13, 26 & 28. There were two match three winners. They are Trish Hopkins & Martin McDermott C/O Abbott. They each receive 40 euro. Next week's jackpot is 7900 euro and the draw will be held in Newman's. Our Division 6 team played against Ballymore on Sunday last and, even though they didn't win the game, they received the points as Ballymore had to forfeit. This was again a good performance by the lads against stronger opponents than they would normally encounter. The lads are still top of this division after five games and are still on course for some much needed silverware in the club.
Congratulations to our schoolboy team who won the 3B Championship final against Ballinamuck on a scoreline of 3-19 to 2-07 on Saturday last in Pearse Park. The score was level at half time 1-6 to 1-6. The second half saw Kenagh pull away and take control. It was a great display of football from both sides.
There was one match three winner. He is Johnny Marlowe and he receives 75 euro. Next week's jackpot is 7800 euro and the draw will be held in O'Boyle's. Our Intermediate team played out a tough game against league rivals, Grattan Og, in Kenagh on Friday last. This was an entertaining game with both sides giving it their all to achieve a victory. The game ended in a draw on a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-14. This leaves us one point behind Grattan Og in the race to become Division two league winners. The lads played against a strong and determined Ballymore team the previous week and came away with a draw on that occasion also. This is probably the most positive league campaign that Kenagh have been involved in for a number of years and the players and management are to be commended for their hard work and dedication so far. We would urge supporters to come along to cheer on the lads as there is a notably low attendance at the home matches.
Our second team are playing against Ballymore in the reserve league on Sunday next at 2:30 pm in Kenagh. the lads are currently top of their division and are in a promising position to win it outright.
We would like to wish the best of luck to our schoolboys who are playing against Ballinamuck in the Cumann na mBunscol Finals on Saturday in Pearse Park. Please check fixtures for the throw in time.
Well done to John gill who played for the County Minors who beat Wicklow in the Minor Championship on Saturday last. They now play dublin in the quarter finals in Pearse Park next Saturday at 7pm. Please try to get into Longford to support John and the lads.
U-6, U-8 & U-10 training continues every Sunday morning from 11:30 to 12:30.
